Prior to being drafted, he attended Flowery Branch High School.

He made his major league debut pitching against the Chicago White Sox on Opening Day, March 29, 2018.

He was raised in Flowery Branch, Georgia.

He was once suspended for intentionally hitting Tim Anderson with a pitch.
