ABOUT BJ THOMAS
Grammy Award-winning country and pop singer who released many top hits, including "Hooked on a Feeling" and "Happy Man." He released over 50 albums throughout his prolific career. He won 5 Grammy awards during his career.
Thomas sang with his church choir as a teenager. He formed his first band, The Traits and the Triumphs, with his high school friends.
He earned his first #1 single in 1969 with "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head." He died at the age of 78 after a battle with lung cancer.
He married his girlfriend Gloria Thomas in 1968 and had three children.
He worked with Ray Charles on the 1984 single, "Rock and Roll Shoes."
