ABOUT BEN AMES WILLIAMS
A prolific American writer, he published thirty novels and several hundred short stories over the course of his career. His best-known works include Come Spring, House Divided, and The Unconquered, which was released in 1953.
He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1910 and subsequently worked as a reporter for the Boston American.
Several of his novels, including Leave Her to Heaven and The Strange Woman, released in 1945 and 1946, were adapted into films.
He was born in Mississippi, and he grew up in Ohio. He and his wife, Florence Talpey, had three children together.
He and Dr. Seuss both attended Dartmouth College.
