ABOUT BEN GILES

Best recognized as a newsroom staff member for the Arizona Capitol Times. He also previously worked as a writer for the Washington Examiner.

In 2008, he earned a bachelor's degree in communication and media studies from Virginia Wesleyan College. He then achieved his master's in journalism from University of Maryland College Park.

In 2014, he won 1st place in Investigative Reporting from the Arizona Newspaper Association.

Originally from Maryland, he later settled in Phoenix, Arizona.

Both he and Lisa Salters are renowned journalists from Maryland.
