ABOUT BARRY APPLEBY

Created the comic strip, The Gambols, for the Daily Express. He was also the 1940's editor of Autocar.

He first published illustration was for the British car magazine Autocar in 1931.

The Gambols was based on the lives of Appleby and his wife.

He was married to Dobs (Doris) who wrote comic strips. His father was the editor for Autocar in the 1940s.

John Byrne is another prominent cartoonist from England.
