ABOUT BARBECUE BOB

Blues guitarist who recorded sixty-eight sides, including the "Barbecue Blues."

He was born with the name Robert Hicks but earned the name Barbecue Bob because he worked as a cook in a barbecue restaurant.

He used the "flailing" style that is more often associated with the clawhammer banjo.

His brother is fellow blues musician Charlie Hicks.

He, Robert Johnson , and a handful of other legends are considered to be fathers of the blues.
