WBO NABO Cruiserweight Champion, United States Amateur Heavyweight Champion, and WBA Fedelatin Cruiserweight champion.
He won the National Amateur heavyweight championship in 2001 and 2002.
The first loss of his career came against IBO Cruiserweight Champion Danny Green via unanimous decision in November 2010.
His grandfather is pilot Ralph Flores, whose story was told in the film Hey, I'm Alive.
He trained at the same gym where Julio Cesar Chavez trained as a young man.
