ABOUT AYO MAKUN
Widely known by the stage name A.Y., he has gained widespread popularity for his A.Y. live show with his original comedic sketches. In 2014, he debuted in film by serving as producer and star of the film 30 Days in Atlanta.
He graduated from Delta State University, Abraki in Nigeria in 2003. In 2001, he was voted the most celebrated student on campus by the student body.
In 2009, he was named a U.N. Peace Ambassador. In 2010, he won the Nigerian Entertainment Award for comedian of the year.
He is the oldest of seven siblings. He married his wife Mabel in 2008, with whom he has one daughter named Michelle.
His mentor as an up-and-coming comedian was famed Nigerian comic Ali Baba .
