Arthur Ochs Sulzberger
ABOUT ARTHUR OCHS SULZBERGER
Former publisher of The New York Times who famously oversaw the 1971 publishing of the Pentagon Papers.
He served in the Pacific Theater as a part of the Marine Corps during World War II.
His son, Arthur Ochs Sulzberger, Jr. succeeded him as publisher of the New York Times in 1992.
He married his second wife Carol Fox Fuhrman in 1956.
His publishing of the Pentagon Papers exposed the fact that President Lyndon B. Johnson lied to the American public and Congress about Vietnam and what actually transpired.
