ABOUT ARTHUR WILLIAM SAVAGE
Invented the lever-action rifle called the Savage Model 99. He was the founder of Savage Arms. He also invented radial tires and the modern detachable box magazine.
He used to own the largest cattle ranch in Australia. He also worked for a railroad company called the Utica Belt Line Street Railroad.
His Savage-Halpine torpedo was adopted by the Brazilian navy. The United States rejected its use because of political concerns.
He had a son with his wife Annie Bryant.
He and Henry Ford were contemporaries.
