Former Scottish midfielder who scored one of the most famous goals in Scotland's history against the Netherlands in the 1978 FIFA World Cup.

He grew up playing soccer in Paisley, Scotland.

After his playing career was over, he managed Rotherham United F.C. and Scotland's under-19 club.

He raised a son named Scot Gemmill.
