ABOUT ANTHONY SANTANDER

Professional outfielder that was selected by the Baltimore Orioles during the 2016 Rule 5 draft. Prior to the Orioles, he was a member of the Cleveland Indians minor league system. In 2020, he was given the Louis M. Hatter Most Valuable Oriole Award.

He was first signed to Cleveland as an international free agent in July 2011. He began his career playing for the Arizona League Indians.

He officially made his major league debut playing against the Los Angeles Angels on August 18, 2017, as a member of the Orioles. He earned his first major league hit during the ninth inning of that game. Through the 2022 season, he maintained a batting average of .245.

He is a native of Margarita, Venezuela.

He credits Asdrubal Cabrera as being one of his biggest baseball influences.
