ABOUT ANTHONY DESCLAFANI

Veteran starting pitcher and athlete that was taken by the Toronto Blue Jays as a sixth round pick in the 2011 Major League Draft. He has also pitched in the Miami Marlins , Cincinnati Reds and San Francisco Giants systems. He was later acquired by the Seattle Mariners via trade in January of 2024.

Prior to being drafted, he played college baseball at the University of Florida . He initially began his professional baseball career pitching for the Lansing Lugnuts.

He made his official major league debut while pitching against the Los Angeles Dodgers on the date of May 14, 2014. His seven strikeouts were the second most ever by a rookie in his debut in Marlins' history. He stands 6'2" tall and weighs just under 200 pounds.

He lives along with his wife, Lauren, and their children. He is a native of Freehold, New Jersey.

He was once packaged in a trade that also included Mat Latos .
