New Zealand actress, dancer, and singer known for appearing in the 2021 film F9 and the FX series Shogun. She was a member of the J-Pop girl group FAKY. In 2024, she played Mariko in the critically acclaimed TV series Shogun.
In 2004, she played the titular character in a stage production of the musical Annie.
In 2009, she made her film debut in Ninja Assassin. She has garnered more than 650,000 followers on her annasawai Instagram account.
She has Japanese heritage. As a child, she was influenced by her father, who was a fan of The Beatles and The Carpenters. She received singing lessons from her mother who was an opera singer. At age ten, she moved to Japan.
