ABOUT ANN LANCASTER
British actress best known for her comic roles in film and television. She appeared in a number of episodes of the absurdist television comedy program The World of Beachcomber. Her film credits include Fathom, Carry on Again Doctor, and The Railway Children.
One of her earliest roles was in the 1950 drama film Cage of Gold.
The Railway Children was her last film. She passed away of cancer the same year as its release. She is regarded as a character actress.
She was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England.
She and Dinah Sheridan worked together on the cast of The Railway Children.
