ABOUT ANN FRIEDMAN

Journalist, writer, and editor who is known for writing on a variety of subjects including gender, media, technology, and culture. She often focuses on a variety of powerful women and other cultural icons, writing and discussing their impact on the popular culture.

She studied journalism at the University of Missouri -Columbia. She then began working as an editor beofr becoming a writer. After being an editor of Good Magazine, she began writing for NYmag.com where she worked as a columnist in 2012. She then went on to contribute to a variety of different magazines and news outlets including The Los Angeles Times, The Gentlewoman, and The Guardian.

She is also known for co-hosting a podcast titled Call Your Girlfriend with her friend Aminatou Sow.

She was born and raised in Duboque, Iowa.

She has interviewed a variety of celebrities for different publications including Robyn , Katherine Clark , Lorde , and Nicola Sturgeon .
