He grew up in a small town outside of Sacramento, California. He played quarterback for his high school football team.

He has earned more than 130,000 followers to his verified gaftonguy Instagram account. He has also made regular appearances on Daniella Monet's hugely popular YouTube channel.

His first son Gio was born in September 2019. On February 12th, 2021, Gardner and his fiance, Daniella Monet welcomed a daughter. He and Daniella married in December 2022.
