ABOUT ALIRIO DíAZ

Classically-trained guitarist, internationally recognized for his contributions to Latin music.

As a teen, he moved to the Venezuelan Andies to study saxophone and clarinet under accomplished musician, Laudelino Mejías.

In Caracas, a contest called the oncurso Internacional de Guitarra Alirio Díaz was created in his honor.

He was born in Caserio La Candelaria, a small village in Venezuela.

He and fellow musician Aida Yespica were both originally from Venezuela.
