ABOUT ALI SáNCHEZ

Professional catcher that was signed by the Detroit Tigers in the summer of 2022. Prior to Detroit, he played in the St. Louis Cardinals and New York Mets minor league farm systems. In October of 2022, he was claimed by the Pittsburgh Pirates .

He began his professional career playing for the DSL Mets rookie affiliate team. He was later promoted to the GCL Mets.

He made his major league debut playing against the Washington Nationals on August 10, 2020, as a member of the Mets. He finished the game 0-1.

He is a native of Carora, Venezuela.

He played alongside Jacob deGrom as a member of the Mets during the 2020 regular season.
