ABOUT ALFONSO RIVAS

Professional first baseman that was drafted by the Oakland Athletics during the fourth round of the 2018 Major League Draft. Prior to being drafted, he played college baseball at the University of Arizona for three years. He was later acquired by the Chicago Cubs via trade in January 2020.

He originally began his professional career playing for the Vermont Lake Monsters. He played in exactly 61 games before being promoted.

He made his official major league debut playing against the Chicago White Sox on August 29, 2021. He finished the game hitting 2 for 3. His baseball fame has garnered him a strong following on his personal alfonsorivas Instagram account.

He grew up living with his family in Chula Vista, California. He is one of four siblings.
