ABOUT ALEXANDER COURAGE
Immortalized for composing the theme song to 'Star Trek: The Original Series.' His many collaborators included John Williams and the Boston Pops.
He served in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. He also found compositional work on "Broadway Is My Beat," "Romance," and other radio shows.
He was nominated for an Academy Award for his score to "Doctor Dolittle" from 1967.
His parents were residing in Philadelphia when he was born. He was married to his wife Shirley Pumpelly until his death.
He frequently served as an orchestrator on films scored by Andre Previn .
