ABOUT ALEX GARCIA

Heavyweight fighter who won the 1992 NABF title in a fight against Jerry Jones; began his professional career in 1987 and went on to defeat such prominent fighters as Eddie Gonzalez, Rocky Sekorski, and Jerry Goff.

He served five years in prison for a gang stabbing, and after his release he took up boxing and started training.

He was a silver medalist at the 1986 World Amateur Championships in the super heavyweight division.

He was born and raised in San Fernando, California.

In the 1986 World Amateur Championships where he eventually won a silver medal, he lost in a fight against Teofilo Stevenson .
