Aleksandr Karelin
ABOUT ALEKSANDR KARELIN
Former Greco-Roman wrestler for the Soviet Union and Russia.
He won his first gold medal at the 1988 Olympics in the super heavyweight class.
He was famous for his "Karelin Lift", a reverse body lift.
He was born to Aleksandr and Zineida Karelin.
His last Olympic events were in 2000 when runner Marion Jones made her first big splash on the track and field scene.
