He was working as a dishwasher before appearing on American Idol.

His scarypoolparty Instagram account has earned more than 600,000 followers. He used the same username for his YouTube channel where he has posted original songs called "Blesser," "Poison" and "OUT LOUD."

During the American Idol finale, his niece Jalyn and nephew Jordan were his family representatives.

He finished in second place just ahead of Madison VanDenburg on American Idol.
