ABOUT AKIKO FUKUSHIMA
Turned professional in 1992 and joined the LPGA Tour in 1999.
She had most of her success before joining the LPGA Tour, as she started out on the LPGA of Japan Tour.
She scored her first LPGA Tour victory on May 23, 1999, at the Philips Invitational.
Her father, Hisaaki Fukushima, was a professional baseball player.
She competed in the LPGA of Japan Tour against famous wrestler-turned-golfer Bull Nakano .
