ABOUT AKANI SIMBINE

Sprinter in the 100 meters event he is best known for competing in the 2016 summer Olympics where he placed fifth. He represents South Africa and has won six gold medals as of 2023.

He attended the University of Pretoria. He started competing professionally in 2013 at the World Championships in Athletics.

He was the record holder for the national and African record of 9.84 seconds in 100m from July 2021 to September 2021. He was the winner of the 2018 Commonwealth Games 100m.
