ABOUT AJ SMITH-SHAWVER

Major league starting pitcher, baseball player, and athlete that was selected by the Atlanta Braves during the seventh round of the 2021 MLB Draft. Just three years later, he was selected to be a member of the Atlanta Braves postseason roster.

He played both football and baseball while at Colleyville Heritage High School. While in high school, he primarily played quarterback and third baseman.

In 2024, he made Braves franchise history after becoming the youngest starting pitcher to make their postseason debut. He was just 21 years and 316 days old at the time. In 2023, he was considered the fourth-best prospect in the Braves farm system.

He was born and raised in the state of Texas.

He played alongside Chris Sale as a member of the Atlanta Brave during the 2025 MLB regular season.
