ABOUT AIKO
J-Pop singer-songwriter who won the 2002 Japan Gold Disk Award for her album Natsufuku. Her sophomore album Sakura no Ki no Shita reached #1 on the Oricon weekly charts and sold over one million copies.
She studied music and singing at the Osaka Junior College of Music.
In 1998, she released her debut single "Ashita", which became the theme song for the 1998 movie Shinsei Toire no Hanako-san. Many of the music videos on her YouTube page have eclipsed over 1 million views. She is known for her cheerful tone, with most of her songs being about love.
She was born Aiko Yanal and raised in Suita, Osaka, Japan.
She and Sam Roberts both signed with the Pony Canyon record label.
